Introductory Workshop to Center for Intentional Living in Zagreb, Croatia Love Maps: how the first year of life affects today. October 25-26 2008 Alexis Johnson, PhD Being around caring others is very good for us physically, emotionally and spiritually. Friends, lovers, partners enhance our quality of life in a deeply satisfying way. Our capacity to connect to others and create nourishing relationships begins in our first year of life before our frontal cortex – our ‘smart brain’ is fully operating. All of our early experiences are stored in our limbic brain, the land of images and emotion rather than words and logic. it is our limbic brain that lays down our love map. This two day workshop is rich in current information from many disciplines - depth psychology, neuroscience and spiritual traditions. At the same time, the emphasis will be on personal exploration of these themes and issues. We will use guided imagery and structured interactions to understand our own earliest love maps and how they affect us today. Please bring a dream to the weekend: an old dream that you remember from long ago, a current dream, even a nightmare. If you don’t remember any dreams, pay attention to fantasies while you are not focused on a task. Dreams and daydreams give us access to our limbic brain, as they are images and scenes, not words in a sequence. To register please contact: Tihana Ilic-Prskalo at
